Purple Moose Poetry Prize 2010

Thanks to you all again for your entries in this year’s competition. As you can tell from the two postponements of the judges’ announcement, the final decision was no easy one, reflecting the high standard of collections.

However, the judges have made their decision:

The winning entry is… ‘Welcome Back to the Country’ by Graham Clifford. Congratulations Graham!

You can buy his collection by clicking here.

‘Direct Method’ by Cliff Forshaw is first runner-up.

The highly commended entries are:
‘Banquet in the Hall of Happiness’ by Victor Tapner
‘The Apologist’ by Matthew Howard

(all real names, although all entries were judged anonymously).

‘Welcome Back to the Country’ will be published by Seren as a pamphlet in the Autumn, and the details above will go on the Poetry Wales website.

Congratulations to all once again!

* The deadline for entries to the Purple Moose Poetry Prize 2010 was May 1. The competition will return at the beginning of 2011.

You can go to the Purple Moose page for more information.
