‘THREE FOR TWO’ AT NEXT CELLAR BARDS
There’s an unusual ‘three-for-two’ deal at the Cellar Bards event on Friday, November 29th. Novelists David Towsey, Katherine Stansfield and D K Fields, the couple’s name for their collaborative writing partnership, will all be there as special guests.
David and Katherine are co-writing a trilogy of political fantasy novels, Tales of Fenest, which is being published under the name D K Fields.
The first in the series, Widow’s Welcome, is just out, and is right on topic, as it’s about an election. They will be reading from the collaborative novel on the night, plus a range of their own individually produced new work.
Doors and the bar open at 7.45pm, at the Cellar Bar, Quay Street, Cardigan SA43 1HU. Entry is £3, and open mic spots are available as always.
David’s zombie-western The Walkin’ Trilogy is published by Quercus. Katherine’s historical crime fiction series, Cornish Mysteries, is published by Allison & Busby, and the latest instalment, The Mermaid’s Call, was released in September. She is also a poet.
There will be a new fun event at Cellar Bards this month. Widow’s Welcome is about an election won by telling stories, and at their reading events Katherine and David get people to vote on the sections they read. The results are released via their website and social media the next day.
Open mic spots are always available at The Cellar Bards, Cardigan’s only regular spoken word event. The Bards welcome writers of poetry, short stories, micro-fiction and novels, we like a song or two as well (max five minutes each reader). People who want to read can put their names down at the door on the night. Or go along to listen to the wonderful work of D K Fields, Katherine Stansfield and David Towsey, plus a variety of spoken word performances from the talented regulars.
