Cover image: ‘Beyond the Ancient Calculus’ by Eric Zboya, an Algorithmic Translation from Stéphane Mallarmé‘s ‘Un Coup de des’. Algorithmic Translation is a computer-generated process that transforms text into graphic, nonlinear entities. Through a series of calculations, the computer programme utilized expels an abstract image based upon the original topographical placement of the text on the space of the page. This algorithmic process transforms each letter, each mark of punctuation, into dendrites that extrude into the continuum of the page.
