Writing prompt #8: Write the past
They’re probably listening, like you at the door with a bucket of individually-wrapped sugar for little hands. Ring-ring. Shuffle shuffle. A key turning in the lock. A chill. And there in your periphery, a family dressed in the last century, huddled in one room telling stories. One of them is knitting to keep their legs warm. The clack of hooves and shouts far off. A grumble. Write the past.
